If you have ever spent time in a major city, worked with loud machines or had a toddler you know what it’s like to not be able to hear yourself think. Once in India, I was so overwhelmed by the noise I remember thinking to myself “Surely people can still hear God in this chaos” and without missing a beat he replied, “I’m right here”.

At times we’re often waiting for that audible voice with neon signs telling us which way to go or what lesson we ought to be learning. God’s speaks to us in many ways, He can speak to us through His word (The Bible), through other people, and through His Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth (like a quiet word spoken straight to heart). Like any relationship it begins with communication, a two-way conversation between yourself and God. We all know what it’s like when we talk with someone, you cant get to know them if you just talk at them the whole time, we need to allow them the opportunity to respond and we need to listen. It’s the same with God.
Application:
Take some time today to sit and just hang with God. Start your conversation with Him like you would with anyone else. Allow God the opportunity to respond and allow time to listen, you may be surprised by what He says.
