If you are familiar with Craige Groschel then you will be familiar with his series Alter Ego. One of his main points is that when we spend time with Jesus the more our faith increases, the more our faith increases, the bolder we get (stepping out in faith), the bolder we are the more we see results, the more results we get the more we want to spend time with Jesus.
Time – This is the key to the cycle. Time represents how much I’m prepared to invest in my relationship with Jesus. By investing in my relationship with Jesus through prayer, meditating on his word, and by allowing his Holy Spirit to speak to me, I am transformed more into his likeness. The more time I spend with him the more I get to know His heart and character by which I can use as an example to live my life. (Matthew 6:33)
Faith – The more time I spend with Jesus in my personal life the more my faith builds and increases as he works in me so I become more like Him (2 Corinthians 3:18)
Boldness – As my faith increases so does my confidence in His ways, and I become more obedient to the prompting and leading of his Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 2:3-5)
Results – As I step out more in faith and boldness I begin to take action and see results through the prompting of the Holy Spirit and see God’s dynamite (Dunamis) power at work in and through me. (James 2:17)
Have you recently been challenged to step out in faith? Have you hesitated because of how you were going to look if nothing happened? One of the problems is that we’re putting too much emphasis on our own ability. When we step out in faith God steps in with His mighty power (the Holy Spirit).
